Sonyia Richardson, MSW, LCSW is the founder and director of Empowerment and Development Exchange, Inc.  She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During her undergraduate studies, she volunteered and or was employed with Victim's Assistance Misdemeanor Unit, Child and Adolescent Services, and the AVID program. She had a deep passion for the field of Psychology and graduated Cum Laude. Immediately after receiving her Bachelor's degree, she traveled to UNC Chapel Hill to puruse graduate studies in Social Work.

Mrs. Richardson started Empowerment and Development Exchange, Inc. as a response to her experiences growing up as a teenager in the Charlotte Metro area.  She received lots of support from family members and local community leaders.  She credits her current success to an abundance of support, training, and molding received from older adults as a teenager.  She wishes to provide teenagers and young adults with the opportunity to shine forth, become successful and create a legacy.
