Empowerment and Development Exchange, Inc. (EDE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive services to meet the emotional, developmental, social and intellectual needs of children, adolescents, and young adults.  EDE develops creative and innovative programming to meet the diverse needs of its consumers.  The agency strives to empower children, adolescents and young adults to embrace their uniqueness and strive towards excellence in all edeavors.
 
Empowerment and Development Exchange was incorpated in 2007 and has begun providing services through the GEMS program.
 
Services Provided
 
G.E.M.S. (Girls Empowered to Model Success)
The mission of the GEMS program is to help girls (ages 13-18) become confident, empowered, and self motivated leaders by providing opportunities that will allow them to assess their inner strengths and evaluate their decision making skills and goal setting behaviors. G.E.M.S. participate in monthly training events and trips.  They also receive personal coaching to assist in completing an individual success plan.  Applications must be submitted in order to participate.  Applications are accepted April - May and girls are selected to participate for the fall academic year.
